Cell phones and work

Personal Cell Phones and Working the Floor.

Our managers have a strict, no-cell phone policy when we are working in the emergency department. Anyone caught using their cell phones will be immediately written up by the charge nurse or the one of the managers that happen to be on duty.

However, everyone on the floor, including myself, keeps their cell phone on their person regardless of the consequences.

It's all about being smart with your cellphone, don't be busting it out in the middle of the nursing station, while there is stuff to do, everyone is obviously busy, and there is a good chance of a supervisor walking by.

Using common sense with looking at or using your cellphone on the floor, makes your chances of getting caught negligible.
